Royal Victoria struck first in the 28th minute and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. The visitors doubled their advantage in the 60th minute, but Donti refused to surrender. In the 70th minute, Dan Bustamante unleashed a 35-yard strike to pull Donti within one.

 

The goal sparked a late push, but Royal Victoria held on for the 2-1 victory.

Donti FC delivered one of their biggest wins of the season on Sunday, defeating league leaders The Lakers 3-1, keeping the race for the top of the table wide open.

 

After a tightly contested first half ended scoreless, Donti emerged with renewed intensity after the break. Kristian Canaris broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, unleashing a thunderous strike from outside the box that left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

 

The Lakers responded with an equalizer in the 72nd minute, but Donti answered almost immediately. Just two minutes later, Seba Castello curled a magnificent 25-yard free kick over the wall and into the top corner to restore the lead. The victory was sealed in the 81st minute when Castello's pinpoint corner found Dan Bustamante, whose powerful header made it 3-1.

 

New signing Theo Peterson enjoyed an impressive debut, producing a composed defensive display and repeatedly breaking up Lakers attacks, often battling against multiple opponents.

Donti FC Strengthens Midfield with Hervia Brothers

Donti FC has strengthened its midfield with the signing of brothers Brandon and Max Hervia before the closing of the transfer window. Both players bring strong technical ability, composure on the ball, and valuable competitive experience.

 

Brandon Hervia joins after developing with Rush Soccer Academy in the SAAC League and competing for the Mohawk Mountaineers in the OCAA college league. He will wear the No. 77 shirt.

 

Max Hervia arrives following spells with the Georgetown Mustangs in the Peel Region PHDSA League and the Georgetown Rebels in the HSSAA League. A creative and skilful midfielder, he will wear No. 20.

 

The addition of the Hervia brothers provides Donti FC with greater depth, quality, and versatility in midfield as the club continues building a squad capable of competing at the highest level this season.

Donti FC suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat on Sunday against The Tigers, conceding deep into stoppage time after an intense and physical contest.

 

Donti started brightly and took the lead in the 8th minute when Ben Cates finished confidently after excellent work from Jigme. The Tigers responded in the 21st minute, leveling the score at 1-1, but Donti regained control just before halftime. In the 39th minute, Josh Defreitas produced the moment of the match, unleashing a strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance and sent Donti into the break with a deserved 2-1 advantage.

 

The Tigers equalized again in the 67th minute, setting up a tense finish. Despite pushing for a winner, Donti struggled to maintain concentration, committing several costly unforced errors throughout the match.

The game was marked by an extremely aggressive and physical approach from The Tigers, who repeatedly disrupted Donti's attacking rhythm with tactical fouls. Many felt the referee failed to control the contest, allowing the physical play to continue unchecked.

Donti FC showed tremendous determination on Sunday but ultimately came up short, falling 1-0 to Royal Victoria FC under difficult circumstances.

 

Hit hard by injuries, suspensions, and player absences due to travel, Donti was forced to begin the match with only 10 players. Striker Kristian Canaris stepped into goal for the opening 40 minutes until Ryan Cates arrived to take over between the posts.

 

Despite the adversity, Donti delivered a courageous first-half performance, frustrating Royal Victoria and heading into the break locked at 0-0. The deadlock was finally broken 11 minutes into the second half when Royal Victoria found the net for what proved to be the game's only goal. Donti battled until the final whistle, but the squad was unable to find an equalizer.

 

Although the result was disappointing, Donti's resilience and fighting spirit under challenging circumstances were impossible to question.

The action started early when Kristian Canaris opened the scoring in the 5th minute, giving Donti the perfect start. Oakville responded quickly, leveling the match just four minutes later. Undeterred, Donti regained the lead in spectacular fashion in the 19th minute as Dan Bustamante unleashed a stunning strike from nearly 30 yards out that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

 

Oakville refused to fade and found another equalizer in the 33rd minute, sending the teams into halftime tied at 2-2 after an entertaining first half filled with pace and quality. The decisive moment arrived 10 minutes into the second half when Jeroni Mestres set up David Antowan, who finished to restore Donti's advantage. Oakville pushed relentlessly for another equalizer, but Donti's resilient defensive unit once again stood tall.

 

Despite missing two chances to extend the lead, Donti held firm to secure a critical victory.

Donti FC kicked off its new season in winning fashion on Sunday, May 24, defeating The Tigers 2-1 in a tense and fog-filled opener.

Playing in their debut Puma yellow-and-black second jersey, Donti FC wasted no time setting the tone. Mestres opened the scoring in the 6th minute, converting a penalty kick to give Donti the early advantage.

 

The match remained tight throughout, with both sides battling for control in difficult weather conditions. Donti’s defensive line stood firm for most of the night, doing an excellent job containing repeated attacks from The Tigers and protecting the lead with disciplined defending.

 

Early in the second half, Sabeeh doubled Donti’s advantage with another successful penalty kick in the 50th minute, putting the home side in a strong position. The Tigers responded with a goal in the 63rd minute to make for a nervy final stretch, but Donti FC held their ground and secured an important first victory of the season.

 

The result gives Donti FC a confident start to the campaign, built on resilience, organization, and a defense that proved difficult to break down.

The top scores for the season include Seba with 9 goals, followed by Bustamante, Antowan and Defreitas scoring 5 goals each.

Donti FC are the 2025 BSL Division 1 Champions, beating the Lakers by 2 to 1 in an exciting and intense game this past Sunday.

First goal came at the 17th minute with Mestres' precisely executed free kick from 25 yards, going over the wall into the top left corner of the woodwork. The winning goal by Hamzah Sabeeh, assisted by David Chung, came during injury time at the 92nd minute.

This is Donti’s debut in this league after very successful campaigns in Oakville during the past few years.
